Lynn Eathorne Alexander - Class of 1968

When I was six years old my family moved back to Bremerton. My father was to be the basketball coach of a brand new high school. He knew that he would be facing his former coach and friend, Ken Wills. As he walked thru that gym I watched him walk over to the big "E" on the floor. We were both so proud that the school had recognized that the floor belonged to EATHORNE...

Bev Devine Rambo - Class 61

Wow, was this a great stroll down memory lane. I graduated in 61 and was a song leader that year. Mr. Eathorne and I were both ejected by the ref for giving our opinion too loudly. I may be the only cheer/song leader to have received a technical foul in East High history, but it was worth it. I love the facts, the pictures, videos and stories.
Say hi to Mr. Eathorne from Bev Devine class of '61.
Mike Edwards and I stay in touch and he gave me this site. He said the golf tourney was great fun and so happy to reconnect with so many wonderful people, especially Mr. Eathorne. He was a model for so many of us. I too am an educator and hope I have made a difference in the lives of some of those I have taught and worked with. This is a fantastic site.

Judy (Karlson) Reets

My first introduction to East High school was at a basketball game. The experience was truly special. I enjoyed being a Knight in a long line of Knights. MY Dad graduated in '59 my sister Bev in '75, Karen in '77. My brother Mike, sister Deborah and I all graduated from Bremerton High. What a great website to remember a man that had a great impact on members of our community, both directly and indirectly.

I had Mr.Eathorne as a teacher and always enjoyed being around him, a wonderful man. I was in the Pep Band so was at all the games playing my horn as loudly as possible to encourage the team and fans. For the last 10 years I have been a been a referee for the Christian based "Upwards Basketball League" that plays for 3 months in the "East High" gym. It is always a joy to step back in time as I enter "Les's Place" and live again those days of innocence.

I love this, great job, I have been hoping someone would do this, we had a great thing going at EHS, some people never know that kind of camraderie in there lives. I was a faithful pep cluber, making signs and screaming my lungs out. I am as honored now as I was then to be a Knight! THANKS....

Randi Peterson-Adolph

Thanks so much for collecting and preserving our memories. Now I can show my daughters what a "real" high school is like! I'm forever proud to be a KNIGHT!

Susan Meier Stevens - Class of 1960

Hello, What a great website. Very exciting to have this information about Bremerton High Schools.
I graduated from East High in 1960, the first class to be there the first four years.
When I was a Junior and Senior, I was Coach Eathorne's basketball team secretary. It was one great honor to be working with him outside of his history class.
My job was to travel with the team, do the statistics, go to practices and be available to help Coach with whatever he needed.
Traveling those long distances on a bus filled with basketball players all dressed in their sport coats and nice slacks was quite an honor. There were only two girls on those trips. It was always quiet on the bus going to the games, but depending on the outcome of the game, it could be a very noisy bus returning to Bremerton. Of course it was great for me personally because my boyfriend was the Captain of the team during my senior year and we could sit together on the return trip!!!:)
I have remained friends with Coach Eathorne during all of these years. Many years ago he visited me at Beverly Hills High School where I taught for 30 years. I became a tennis coach and thank him for instilling the love of coaching that he always had no matter the win/lose record of his teams. He is an exceptional man who made learning interesting, had a tremendous sense of humor and always knew how to make each of us feel good. Great memories of our terrific class of 1960. Go Knights!
